Chester County J&J subsidary recalls insulin cartridges

Yet another recall for Johnson & Johnson. This time, the company’s West Chester subsidiary, Animas, has issued the recall.

Animas has recalled five lots of its insulin cartridges due to the potential to malfunction.

The Philadelphia Business Journal reports lots B201575, B201576, B201581, B201582 and B201583 have been recalled because the pump could leak, resulting in the delivery of less insulin than is needed. The leak could also cause the pump alarm to malfunction.

The lots were shipped between Nov. 30, 2010 and Jan. 4, 2011. You can find the lot number on the side panel of the cartridge box, and on the packaging of each individual cartridge.
