Camden police prepare for another weekend concert

Another weekend brings another concert to Camden’s waterfront, and the police are preparing for what they hope isn’t a repeat of last weekend.

Community groups called for action after last weekend’s country concert left the city’s downtown in need of a good scrubbing. The District Council Collaborative Board 1 said concert-goers “wreaked havoc” in the area. A Camden police officer was stabbed during crowd patrol, but not by a concert-goer.

While in Camden yesterday, WHYY’s Lizz Fiedler spoke with an officer who fear this weekend’s Phish concert could yield the same unruly fans and mob mentality that the city wil have to clean up after.
