Camden opens its public pools for the summer

Camden has two public pools, and they open today.

Or at least one of them does. The pools in North Camden and Centerville keep different hours on different days, but this is the opening week for both.

“During the hot summer months when children are off from school, we need to make sure we have safe, healthy, and fun activities for them take part in,” Mayor Redd said today in a release.

Camden residents can take part in healthy, fun activities for up to three and a half hours a day.

The North Camden pool is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 3:30 p.m. for kids 15 and under, and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for people 16 and older. In Centerville, kids 15 and under can swim between noon and 3:30 p.m. from Fridays to Tuesdays, and people 16 and older can swim those same days from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Maintenance will take place during the pools’ closed days.
