Butkovitz releases fraud reporting app

Fresh on the heels of the district attorney’s announcement of insurance fraud charges against 11 people, City Controller Alan Butkovitz introduced Philadelphia’s fraud reporting app.

Citizens can report cases of fraud directly to the controller’s office.

The Philly WatchDog app is billed as “the first app in the nation that focuses on reporting fraudulent incidents directly to a government entity.”

With the app, users can report cases of fraud, and shoot and upload video directly to the Controller’s Fraud Unit.
