Bridgeton officials find missing statue head, but not the person who removed it

Whomever decided to remove the head from Bridgeton’s Civil War statue wasn’t looking for a trophy.

The News of Cumberland County reports the head was found this morning in a pond between the statue and the Cohansey River.
After the head, valued at $3,000, went missing last week, the Police Chief offered a $100 reward. By Saturday, the reward was up to $1,000. But authorities are still looking for the person or people who removed the head, which sustained damage during its stay in the pond.

Tips are being taken at (856) 451-0033 and 856-455-5550.
