    Transcript:

Concierge medicine is VIP-style primary care. Dr. Marc Newman is the latest practitioner in the Philadelphia region to open this type of medical practice. Newman says patients at his Chestnut Hill office get same or next-day appointments, office visits with short or no waits, and ample time with the doctor.

Newman charges a $2,000 a year retainer for adults, $1,000 for children and does not take any insurance. Other concierge offices in the area include Total Access Medical and MDVIP.

Newman says he prefers the concierge system to his former traditional practice. He says at his clinical practice, he was required to see more and more patients for the same salary, and was always being asked to do more with less. Newman says he will cap his practice at 200 patients. So far he only has 30, as many people are still unfamiliar with the concierge medicine concept.
