In photos: Bike trail unveiled at Bartram’s Garden

A  snip of a ribbon marked the official opening of a bike trail at America’s first botanical garden.

City officials, waterfront advocates and bike enthusiasts gathered at Bartram’s Garden today in Southwest Philadelphia to celebrate the site’s new bike trail, which connects to regional rail service.

But we wouldn’t blame cyclists if they waited for another day to test the trail. Thursday’s heat index was expected to pass 100 degrees.
