Big names in music like George Thorogood and X Ambassadors will take the stage at Delaware’s State Fair.

Thorogood’s return to his home state, marks the rocker’s first time performing at the fair. Another first, a fair kickoff concert with country singer Jake Owen along with Granger Smith on Wed. July 20.

Gate admission will not be charged for the kickoff concert, but none of the other fair attractions will be running that night. Tickets are $31-71.

“We are excited to offer our enthusiastic patrons another night of country music at this concert-only evening at the fairgrounds,” said Delaware State Fair general manager Bill DiMondi. “We hope fans can come enjoy Jake Owen’s extra concert performance here in Harrington as they prepare for Thursday’s start of the 97th Delaware State Fair.”

Fair organizers released the musical lineup this morning. Pop singer Rachel Platten, Grammy-winning country group Little Big Town and Christian chart-toppers For King and Country are also scheduled to grace the stage in Harrington.

“I believe we have put together a versatile lineup for our concert fans. We are looking forward to producing an unforgettable 2016 Summer Concert Series at the M&T Bank Grandstand and Quillen Arena,” Assistant General Manager Danny Aguilar said.

The 2016 concert series lineup boasts 16 music artists, monster trucks, a comedian, a rodeo and the traditional Harness Racing at the fair. A craft beer festival featuring Blues Traveler with Lower Case Blues will close out the fair on Saturday.

The Delaware State Fair will be held July 21–30. The musical lineup, concert times and ticket prices can be found at delawarestatefair.com
