Biden to campaign for Cory Booker in N.J.

Vice President Joe Biden is planning to travel to New Jersey to campaign for Cory Booker’s campaign for Senate.

The White House says Biden will hit the campaign trail on Oct. 11. That’s five days before New Jersey’s special election to replace former Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who died in June.

Biden has been campaigning and raising money for Democrats in a number of states. He’s hosting a fundraiser at his Delaware home this weekend for his son, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden.

The Democratic mayor of Newark, N.J., Booker faces conservative Republican Steve Lonegan in the election.
