Biden family launches charity in Beau’s memory

The Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children is designed to continue his life’s passion: protecting children.

 

Biden’s widow Hallie and the Delaware Community Foundation announced the Beau Biden Foundation Tuesday morning.

“I’ve known Beau since he was a child, and everyone in Delaware knows about his passion for helping and protecting innocent children,” said Fred Sears, President and CEO of the Delaware Community Foundation. “It’s an honor for us to be part of establishing his legacy with the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children.”

The Foundation is designed to carry on the work Biden focused on throughout his life.  stand up and speak out for those in the greatest need of a voice.

In Biden’s own words: “We have seen the progress that can be made when society commits to shining a bright light on a crime like domestic violence, and we are seeing the beginning of what can be accomplished if we continue shining that bright light on child abuse,” he wrote. “As adults, we have a legal and moral obligation to stand up and speak out for children who are being abused – they cannot speak for themselves.”
