Best in show: Top Canines in Pa. for National Dog Show

Who is top dog? Canines in every shape and size are in Oaks, Pennsylvania this weekend for the National Dog Show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center to battle for Best in Show.

According to the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, more than 2,000 dogs making up more than 150 breeds are in town this weekend to compete for best of Breed, First in Group and the ultimate honor, Best in Show.

The National Dog Show has rich history in the Philadelphia area. According to the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, the club and its predecessor clubs have presented dog shows since 1879, with the Philadelphia club predating the American Kennel Club, which was organized in September of 1884.

The event began Saturday and continues through today. The Kennel Club of Philadelphia says the National Dog Show will be broadcast on Thanksgiving Day on NBC.
