A dance instructor from Hockessin is accused of having sexual contact with a 17-year-old Dover student.

Alexander Boitsov, 65, is awaiting extradition from New York City, where he was arrested last week.

The 17-year-old male dance student and his parents reported the incident that allegedly occurred at the Dance Conservatory in Dover two weeks ago. They said Boitsov took the victim to a locker room where he was told to undress. The victim said Boitsov then engaged in sexual contact with him.

The Dover Police Department obtained an arrest warrant and Boitsov was arrested by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force at the Ellison School of Ballet without incident.

Boitsov is known to travel to various dance schools to provide lessons. Detectives said they’re unaware of additional victims at this time, but the the investigation is ongoing. Anyone wishing to report incidents that may have occurred in Dover should contact Detective Boney at 302-736-7139. Any potential victims from outside of Dover should contact their local law enforcement officials.
