Police tell The Philadelphia Inquirer that Patel is from northern New Jersey. The newspaper reports police said Patel spent Wednesday night out with friends in nearby Bryn Mawr and that alcohol may have been a factor.

An autopsy was to be conducted Friday by the Delaware County medical examiner.
