Atlantic hurricane season begins

The Atlantic hurricane season is underway today, and the Delaware Emergency Management Agency wants you to be prepared in the event of a hurricane or a coastal storm.

The season lasts for six months.  US government forecasters expect an above-average season, with three to six major hurricanes possible.  The country has not taken a direct hit from a major hurricane in nearly five  years, but emergency management officials say luck can only last so long.
