As Blue Horizon development progresses, Planning Commission looks to rezone the whole block

Developers of Hotel Blue, the boutique hotel proposed at the old Blue Horizon boxing venue, need a zoning change before their plans can move forward.

Philadelphia City Council’s Rules Committee has recommended that the change be made, but the Planning Commission seems to have thrown a wrench in the plan.
PlanPhilly reports the Commission supports changing the zoning of the Blue Horizon’s entire surrounding block on North Broad Street — something that hasn’t been discussed with neighbors.

The Planning Commission has now agreed to hold a meeting with neighbors before adding the zoning amendment to the bill.
