As Atlantic City rehires officers, state police union ends events protest

Since January, the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association has pulled its events from Atlantic City, protesting the resort’s police layoffs.

Now that those positions have been filled, the union will resume events in the city.

The Associated Press reports the PBA will host its November awards dinner in A.C., as well as its  February labor-training seminar and March mini-convention. The city filled the last of its 60 lay-off positions last week.
