Art Opening At Depaul House May 9

Depaul USA, a national homeless services provider, will unveil its second art exhibit, Unlimited Potential: Changing Lives through Artistic Exploration, on May 9.

The new exhibit is a collaboration with Resources for Human Development (RHD) including over 60 carefully curated works. The Gallery will open at 5:30 p.m., featuring a conversation with program directors from both RHD and Depaul USA at 6 pm. Depaul House is located at 5275 Sprague Street. The Gallery at Depaul House hosts regular art exhibits related to homelessness, housing, outsiders, and the Germantown community. Charles Levesque, Depaul USA’s Executive Director, stated that the purpose of the Gallery is to create “an authentic third place where the men of Depaul House and members of the larger community can encounter and enrich each other.” This exhibit features artists from the Oasis Art Center and the Center for Creative Works, both programs of RHD. Many program participants attend classes at both facilities and have been long term participants in these art workshops.

Depaul House is a transitional housing program that serves 27 men at any given time located at 5725 Sprague Street in Germantown. Depaul USA is a member of the Depaul International family of charities. Each year, these charities serve more than 7,000 homeless and low-income individuals in five countries.
