Army National Guard to conduct mortar, field artillery training at Joint Base

Residents near Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst may hear “booms” and feel “rumbles” over the next few days.

New York Army National Guard units will conduct mortar and field artillery training between 7 a.m. and midnight beginning tomorrow and lasting until Sunday, according to a military release.

“During this time, Joint Base and community residents may experience ground shaking and considerable noise, especially during overcast weather conditions,” the release said.

“Joint Base MDL works hard to minimize the impact training may have on surrounding communities. We appreciate your patience as our Marines conduct this essential training, which ultimately helps to ensure the readiness of America’s fighting force.”
