Area’s wealthy residents reveal how they’re investing

Nearly 70 percent of the Philadelphia area’s wealthy residents say they’ve been more conservative with their investments in recent years. It’s one highlight from a study by Strid Wealth Management Group of Berwyn that asked wealthy residents in the region how they’re investing.

Several hundred of the 1,000 qualifying households that qualified for the study responded, the Philadelphia Business Journal reports. The study was conducted in the first quarter of 2011 and polled people living within 30 miles of Philadelphia who had investable assets between $500,000 and $10 million.

    Some other key points:

78 percent of those with kids in private school haven’t considered pulling them out
about 50 percent are worried about job security and future income
more than half are stepping up their efforts to pay off debt
