April 16 benefit to honor trooper

A rookie Chester County state trooper killed by a drunken driver will be honored this month with a fundraiser focused on buying breathalyzers for local and state police statewide.

State Police Trooper Kenton E. Iwaniec, 24, was driving home on March 27, 2008, when another vehicle veered into opposing traffic and hit his vehicle head-on. He died the next day.

Iwaniec’s family is hosting the event on April 16th to raise awareness over the the dangers of drinking and driving.
