Apple confirms recall of small number of Verizon’s iPad 2 tablets

Woe is the gadget lover. Apple has confirmed a recall of some of its Verizon iPad 2 tablets, but says just a small number of the devices has been affected.

An Apple spokeswoman shared the issue:

“Duplicate MEID codes were flashed onto an extremely small number of iPad units for the Verizon 3G network.”

Reuters kindly translated that geek-speak for us to explain that MEIDs are mobile equipment identifier — unique numbers used to connect a device to the network. Apple is replacing the affected devices.
