American couple discovers fake Apple stores in China

There are Apple stores in China whose employees can’t properly work computers and where the products cost more.

This is because they’re imposters. The Associated Press is reporting on a story uncovered by an American woman living and blogging in China.

There are three such stores in Kunming, China, where, as seen in these photos, the products, ads and employees all look Apple-bonafide. A couple of clues the stores are knockoffs? Shoddy stairs, sloppy painting and the “Apple Store” label you won’t find at legit retailers.

Apple does have plans to tap further into the Chinese market, but customers can probably expect some better stairs.
