Amateur archaeologists welcome at Natural History Road Show
That rock you found in your backyard is definitely a prehistoric tool used for self defense by a primitive people. Why not get an expert to confirm it?
The National History Road Show comes to the Wagner Institute this weekend, where you can get that final say on whether your natural discovery is more than just a common pebble.
The free event includes a panel of experts who will examine your shells, insects, fossils, rocks and minerals to determine their origin and value. Like Antiques Road Show, except you don’t have to go digging through your grandmother’s attic.
From noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, bring your treasures and enjoy some of the other events the Natural History Road Show has to offer:

scavenger hunt
forest mural coloring
outdoor activities for kids
children’s presentation on Urban Ecology
The road show starts at 2 p.m. Experts include an entomologist, mineralogist, malacologist and natural history specialist.
