Advocate award

    Matthew Chea, the Southeast Asian Project Coordinator for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office is the recipient of this year’s FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award.

    According to a bio sent out by the FBI, Chea was born on the Thai-Cambodian border and escaped the genocide of the Khmer Rouge with is family , fleeing to a U.N. refugee camp and finally to the U.S.  He’s responsible for reaching out to victims in the city’s large Southeast Asian population.
