Adult entertainment district could make its way to Atlantic City

Officials in Atlantic City are set to consider establishing a zone for adult entertainment oriented businesses in the city’s South Inlet section as an alternative to its current strategy.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, the city’s current strategy leaves the locations of these zones up to market forces.

The section of the city that would include the zone is controlled by the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA).

According to the report, CRDA officials have not yet met with with business owners about the idea.

The Press of Atlantic City says by strict definition, a red-light district includes prostitution, but the Atlantic City concept would not.
