Activist likely to appear on Philadelphia’s mayoral ballot

    Philadelphia is likely to have another candidatea on the mayoral ballot this fall, and his last name isn’t Street.

    Diop Olugbala, also known as Wali Rahman, has filed to be on the ballot, and will hold a press conference today to discuss Mayor Michael Nutter’s approach to flashmobs.

    As City Paper reports, Olugbala is affiliated with the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement, known for its furniture store and its support of socialism and black power.
