Acme changes hands, keeps name
The Delco Times is reporting that iconic Acme supermarkets will keep the name.
Kathleen Carey reported that a representative for the new owner said, “We have no plans to change the banners. Acme will stay Acme.”
The sale is expected to be completed in March. It’s still unclear if stores will be sold, if Acme workers will face layoffs, or if the chain will be sold on again to another buyer.
