Abington cops grow mustaches to raise money

Things in Abington are getting a little hairy. Police officers and townships residents are two weeks into the CopStache challenge. The fundraising effort has men growing mustaches to raise money for the Police Athletic League and Abington Township Police Association.

Individuals can sponsor someone for as little as $5, while businesses can get in on the action for $100, the Glenside News Globe Times Chroncile reports. If the officers can raise $10,000 by the ATPA’s March 18 beef and beverage event, Police Chief Bill Kelly will shave the mustache he’s had for 38 years.
