A reminder on new snow restrictions

The Delaware State News has a reminder today on the new state law that outlines 3 levels of snow restrictions available to Governor Markell during a heavy snow.

It is aimed at giving state leaders more flexibility and to clear up any misunderstandings as happened in some areas of the state last February.

Level 1: Driving warning.  Drivers are discouraged from operating motor vehiciles unless there is a signifigant safety, health, or business reason to do so.

Level 2: Driving restriction: Travel on state roads is restricted to emergency workers, public utilities, and healthcare providers.

Level 3: Driving ban: Complete ban on driving except for first responders, utility personnel, and public or private snow removal.  Businesses are asked to do adjust work schedules for employees.
