At this point, if you want true fall, you’re likely tired of our continuing summer-like weather.
But for those who pray for “extra innings” of summer, the weather has been just perfect.
And for a photographer, on a warm, bright day like today, the lighting cannot be beat.
I captured this image of seaside goldenrod in bloom within a South Seaside Park dune under a deep blue, cloudless sky this afternoon.
In addition to milkweed, migrating monarch butterflies feed on seaside goldenrod. Newsworks’ Amy Z. Quinn reports that the annual Cape May monarch census is underway, and the count has been modest at best.
