    Delaware police working with the Office of Highway Safety on the 2009 'Stop Aggressive Driving' campaign issued 274 citations for speeding violations between July 27 and August 2.

    That brings the total number to 1,738 since the statewide campaign kicked off July 6.

    Speeding is listed as a factor in 22% of the state’s fatal crashes.

    Another crackdown is coming this fall.

    Through the month of October, Delaware State Police, New Castle County Police, and Dover Police will dedicate special patrols to look for speeders and drivers showing other dangerous behavior such as running red lights.
