Why not stroll around, grab a bite to eat and take in the sights during Manayunk’s First Friday? More shops, restaurants and galleries than you’ll have time to take in!

Shrek! The Musical at Upper Darby’s Summer Stage
Channel your inner ogre and enjoy the professional-level theater that Summer Stage is famous for. Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $12 to $15. Box office: (610) 622-1189 or purchase online.
Saturday, August 2
Head to the water for the Southeast Asian Dragonboat Festival. Southeast Asian Dragonboat Festival on Saturday, August 2 from noon to 7 p.m. Head down to the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing and the Marina at Penn’s Landing for daylong fun including entertainment and racing.
Sharpen those skills (excuse the pun) and get ready for school with a build-your-own pencil holder. Kids ages 5 to 12 are invited to create the free craft and receive an apron for future building. Register ahead online. 9 a.m. to noon
Take your tween or teen to enjoy the uber-popular “Pitch Perfect” under the stars. The free outdoor screenings happens at the Trolley Car Diner (7601 Germantown Ave.) at 8:30 p.m. Bring a blanket and chairs. Singing voice welcome, but not required.
