Yesterday, for the Jersey Shore, the National Weather Service called for the greatest chance of thunderstorms in the Monmouth County area.
That turned out to be accurate, although the strongest storms were to the north in the New York City metro area.
Photographers captured lightning bolts that struck both locally and in the distance.
