39th Police District Crime Blotter March 18 – March 24

March 22

3100 block Abbotsford Ave. – two men robbed a third man at gunpoint. As the complainant was walking away, one of the offenders fired at the complainant and hit him in the lower left leg. The offenders fled into the Abbotsford Homes. The complainant was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

March 18, 2011

N. 29th St. / W. Wishart St. – complainant was shot once in the left leg at around 9:40 p.m., March 17. Complainant was taken to the hospital and released.

3100 block N. Patton St. – complainant was shot twice in the right leg while being chased by two offenders. The complainant was taken to the hospital.

1500 block Ruffner St. – two men robbed a third man at gunpoint. The offenders ran off with $500 and an iPhone 4.

March 19, 2011

3100 block W. Hunting Park Ave. – a Luke Oil manager said someone stole more than $3,000 from the shop. He said two of his employees were the only ones on the scene at the time that he suspects the money went missing.

4500 block Kelly Drive – generator, 10 saw blades, GPS, cell phone and a wallet stolen from a rented car. Complainant said he left the window down. There was no sign of a forced entry.

3200 block N. Carlisle St. – complainant said someone stole 60’ of copper pipes and damaged an air conditioner and a wall of a vacant rental property he owns. He said he arrived at the location around 1:30 p.m., March 19.

March 20, 2011

4200 block Wissahickon Ave. – iPod and iPhone stolen from a 2008 Chevy Impala between 12-3 p.m. March 20.

4200 block Wissahickon Ave. – a pair of Gucci glasses was stolen from a 2004 Nissan Maxima between  12 and 3 p.m. March 20.

3800 block N. Smedley St. – 42” Samsung TV, Samsung theater and 50’ of copper pipe stolen from the property. The tenant said the building was boarded up after a fire Feb. 21 and when she returned to retrieve the rest of her belongings, she noticed several items were missing.

1400 block W. Hunting Park Ave. – 1999 Nissan Altima stolen between 3 a.m. and 12 p.m. March 19.

1400 block W. Hunting Park Ave. – 2005 BMW X5 stolen sometime between 10 p.m. March 18 and 4 p.m. March 19.  Complainant said she noticed earlier in the night that her keys were missing from her purse.

3000 block Judson St. – nail gun, radio, space heater, two saws and a laser stolen from the property between 8 a.m. March 17 and 10 a.m. March 20.

3100 block Judson St. – 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass stolen. Complainant said she lent the car to her brother, who said he may have dropped the keys somewhere on the street.

March 21, 2011

4700 block Wissahickon Ave. – 27” Apple iMac and $12 worth of vending machine tokens stolen from the property. Location was last secured by an employee at 6 p.m. March 20.

1500 block W. Cayuga St. – car radio and pocketbook stolen from a 2000 Chrysler Voyager at around 8 p.m. March 19.

2200 block W. Hunting Park Ave. – bullet proof vest and a set of handcuffs stolen from the police station. Complainant said he was injured on duty at the end of August 2010 and when he returned to duty March 7, the items were missing from his station locker.

2600 block W. Sterner St. – complainant said he was sitting in his living room when he heard his front window break. When he went to investigate he found a bullet hole in the window and a bullet on the floor. Complainant was unable to see anyone.

2600 block W. Sterner St. – store cashier said he heard the front door glass shatter. When he went to investigate he found a bullet in a tile wall adjacent to the front door. Complainant couldn’t see anyone.

2800 block Judson St. – complainant said she was raped by four men. She said she was skipping school at the time of the incident.

March 22, 2011

1700 block W. Tioga St. – grocery store manager said someone stole a packet of state lottery tickets from behind the counter between 4:30-5 p.m. March 21. Complainant said no one witnessed the incident.

March 23, 2011

4900 block Royal St.  – laptop was stolen from a 1996 Nissan Maxima between 3:30-4 p.m. March 12.

1400 block W. Pike St. – 2001 Lincoln Town Car stolen between 10 a.m and 1 p.m. March 23

4400 block N. Bancroft St. – Playstation 3, wedding ring, laptop and more stolen from the property between 8 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. March 23.

2700 block N. 22nd St. – Apple iPod, radio and GPS stolen from a 2002 Ford Crown Victoria at around 12:30 p.m. March 23.

3100 block Abbotsford Ave. – two men robbed a third man at gunpoint. As the complainant was walking away, one of the offenders fired at the complainant and hit him in the lower left leg. The offenders fled into the Abbotsford Homes. The complainant was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

March 24, 2011

5400 block Wissahickon Ave. – 1994 Buick Century stolen between 8 p.m. March 23 and 9 a.m March 24.

3300 block Bowman St. – 1991 Pontiac Acclaim stolen between 6 p.m. March 23 and 6:30 a.m. March 24.

4000 block Ridge Ave. – two designer watches and $700 stolen from the property between 9 a.m. and 12:47 p.m. March 24. Complainant said he got a phone call at 12:47 informing him his apartment alarm had gone off. When he returned he found his front door forced open and the items missing.

5200 block Wissahickon Ave. – complainant said someone stole prescription pills she had ordered online. She said she never received the pills and that her mailbox does not have a lock on it.

5000 block Erringer Plaza – radio, speakers and subwoofer stolen from a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix sometime after 10 p.m. March 23.

4300 block Clarissa St. – three men robbed a fourth man at gunpoint. One of the offenders was arrested. The other two fled an unknown direction.

3100 block N. Broad St. – cement mixer stolen from the property sometime after 4:30 p.m. March 23. Complainant said he chained the mixer to a gate with a padlock, which he found cut off when he later returned.
