3,000 still without power in 3 South Jersey counties

Early morning storms knocked out power to thousands of people across South Jersey this morning, and about 3,000 are still waiting for service to return.

Today’s Sunbeam reports about 3,000 Atlantic City Electric customers in Salem, Gloucester and Cumberland counties are still without power, and the area’s heat warning kicks in at noon.

Trees came down in the storms, slowing commutes, but no major damage has been reported. The rain won’t bring any relief from the heat.
