300 lifeguards compete in Delaware

The Mid Atlantic Regional Lifeguarding Champisonship drew hundreds of lifeguards to Rehoboth Beach Wednesday.

More than 300 lifeguards took part in competitive events inlcuding a two mile beach run, a 400 meter surf swim, a swimmer rescue race and a 4 x 100 soft sand run relay.  Competitors from New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and, of course, Delaware took part in the event.

The United State’s Lifesaving Association will host its national competition next month in Cape May, NJ.
