New Castle County

2015 Pawpaw Folk Festival, August 22nd

Join us for a family-friendly day of fun-filled activities, including music, storytelling, folk art, and food. Blue Ball Barn at Alapocas Run State Park, Wilmington.

 

 

 

Bike and Hike Dog Day, August 26th

Visitors may bring their dogs, normally not permitted on museum grounds, and walk our three-mile loop through the property from the Visitor Center to Eleutherian Mills and back. Dogs must be kept on leashes, and baggies will be provided to ensure visitors clean up after their dogs. Bring a picnic or dine at the Belin House Organic Cafe. Hagley Museum and Library, Wilmington.

Doctor Who Club, August 25th

Presbyterian Churchyard Lantern Tour, August 28th

On this tour you will visit by lantern light the Presbyterian Church of Dover’s historic cemetery, where many prominent Delawareans and their families are buried. Seussical, August 21st – 25th

Join your favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Getrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie, and Jojo—a little boy with a big imagination—as they transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. The powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant in this musical for all ages. Clear Space Theatre, Rehoboth Beach.

 

Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre presents: Cinderella, August 25th

This version of the classic story premiered at RSCT in 1989 and has become a mainstay of our schedule through the years. As usual, the lovely Cinderella must overcome the trickery of her vain step-sister and make her way to the Royal Ball and into the heart of Prince Charming. Miles, The Town Crier, and his jazzy trumpet add an extra element of humor to the festivities. And to spice things up further, there is the outrageously funny step-sister, Delmarva! Epworth United Methodist Church, Rehoboth Beach.
