2011 Schuylkill River Restoration Fund Grant recipients to be announced Thursday

    The Schuylkill River Heritage Area, Exelon Nuclear and the Philadelphia Water Department will announce the recipients of the 2011 Schuylkill River Restoration Fund Grants tomorrow at 10 a.m.

    The announcement is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. at Albert M. Greenfield School located on 22nd and Chestnut streets in Philadelphia

    Seven projects will be awarded $400,000 to improve water quality in the Schuylkill, which the Schuylkill River National and State Heritage area says is used by 1.5 million people. This will be the sixth year the Restoration Fund has had money available for these grants.

    During the event, there will be multiple presentations given by keynote speakers, as well as a tour of the Playground Stormwater Project that was recently completed.
