17 people arrested during DUI checkpoints in Del.

Delaware transportation officials say 17 people have been arrested as part of a statewide crackdown on driving under the influence.

Officials say the arrests were made last month during the fifth weekend of the 2012 Checkpoint Strikeforce DUI prevention campaign.
That brings the total of DUI arrests made during the campaign to 59.

In addition to the DUI arrests, officials say they apprehended nine people who were wanted, made three drug arrests and issued many citations.

Checkpoints will be conducted on Friday in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, and on Saturday in Seaford.
