Weds, Nov 17

2400 block 76th Ave. – complainant found dead in an alley next to the location with multiple gunshot wounds. A witness said he heard shots and saw two men in dark clothing fleeing the scene.

7300 block Ogontz Ave. – eight gold rings with diamonds stolen from an apartment.

1900 block W. Cheltenham Ave. – complainant said an acquaintance rammed into the back of her car several times before fleeing the scene. The complainant said the offender hit her car once while driving, and four times after she pulled into a gas station. There were no reported injuries.

100 block E. Upsal St. – complainant said an acquaintance pushed him into his house, disabled the burglar alarm and let a group of four or five guys into the house. Five laptops, cell phone, Wii game and controllers, two iPods and a JVC surround system were stolen.

 

Thurs, Nov 18

5600 block Ardleigh St. – complainant said her child’s father pulled a gun on her.

6000 block Morton St. – 1997 Dodge Stratus stolen.

300 E. Upsal St. – complainant said a classmate, a former boyfriend, pulled her behind his home and tried to rape her. She said was able to fight him off and get to her house. She was later taken to hospital.

Chew Ave. / Chelten Ave. – 2008 Suzuki Forenza stolen. Complainant said he rented the car from Enterprise on 11/3/10 to go on a date. When he woke the next morning, the car and his date were gone.

6100 block Germantown Ave. – complainant said miscellaneous grocery items were stolen from his store over the period of a week.

8100 block Seminole Ave. – various clothing items were stolen. Complainant said she used Fed Ex to ship a package from Saks Fifth Avenue to her home. She said she never received the package, but found empty boxes on her front lawn.

 

Fri, Nov 19

500 block Mayland St. – gall fish tank, laptop, wood bar stand, circular saw and lawn equipment were stolen from the property. Complainant said he came home to find his front door forced open.

5900 block Germantown Ave. – complainant said a group of students at his high school beat him up on the building’s second floor. The fight started after one offender accused the complainant of helping his cousin be sent off to jail. The complainant was taken to the hospital for injuries he sustained to his head, mouth and nose. He identified one of his attackers before leaving.

100 block W. Schoolhouse Ln. – complainant said someone stole her checkbook while she was at the hospital and proceeded to write out a series of checks totaling $1,280. The complainant has since closed the bank account.

300 block W. Allens Ln. – 1989 Toyota Corolla stolen.

Bells Mill Rd. / Forbidden Dr. – black purse, digital camera, iPod and a wallet containing various credit cards were stolen from a Chrysler Town & Country minivan.

Rodney St. / Easton Rd. – complainant said two unknown males approached her and a witness and demanded money. The offenders fled in silver Chrysler Pacifica with two Samsung cell phones and $320.

 

Sat, Nov 20

Unit (0-99) block E. Johnson St. – an unknown offender started a fire at the property by igniting the kitchen counter top with a book of matches. Firefighter officials ruled the incident to be arson.

500 block Woodlawn St. – 1995 Ford Escort stolen.

200 block W. Upsal St. – Apple iPhone and two iPods stolen from a 2007 Ford Mustang.

8500 block Williams Ave. – complainant said her husband kicked her and punched her several times in the face. She said she has an expired restraining order against the husband, who hasn’t lived at the property for more than two years. The two are in the process of getting divorced. The woman was taken to the hospital.

7800 block Stenton Ave. – vehicle was stolen between 10 p.m. on 11/19/10 and 6:30 a.m. on 11/20/10.

200 block W. Upsal St. – make-up kit, purse, keys, GPS system and a cell phone were stolen from a 2006 Chevy Equinox.

6200 block Wissahickon Ave. – green wallet containing credit cards, a blank check and $25 and a cell phone stolen from a 2011 Hyundai sedan.

100 block W. Chelten Ave. – travel dryer, tabletop hockey game, TV games and more stolen a pharmacy. The store’s loss prevention officer said he saw the man placing the items into a yellow bag, but that he fled before police arrived.

 

Sun, Nov 21

500 block E. Upsal St. – 1994 Chevy Caprice stolen, but later recovered running on the 900 block of Slocum St. with no key in the ignition.

7100 block Ogontz Ave. – complainant said he was shot in his right arm while waiting for a taxi at the location. Complainant was taken to the hospital. Six fired cartridge cases were recovered from the scene.

100 block E. Durham St. – axe, wood maul, hatchet and fireplace tongs stolen from the property, which the complainant owns. A witness said she saw a tenant with the items.

 

Mon, Nov 22

500 block E. Penn St. – Police responded to the location for a person with a gun. A witness said that the offender pointed a handgun at him. The complainant said the same man placed the gun inside a vehicle.

200 block W. Tulpehocken St. – leather wallet with two debit cards, a gun permit and $20 and a cell phone stolen from a vehicle between 11 p.m. on 11/21/10 and 6:30 a.m. on 11/22/10.

8200 block Temple Rd. – complainant said her daughter’s boyfriend pointed a silver handgun at her while she was reaching for a cell phone. The boyfriend then fled from the house.

 

Tues, Nov 23

4900 block Sheldon St. – complainant said his girlfriend stabbed him with a knife during a verbal fight. The girlfriend was taken into custody.

100 block E. Johnson St. – snow blower, leaf blower and hedge trimmers stolen from a recreation center shed. An employee said he locked the shed the night before and that it was still locked in the morning.

100 block E. Rittenhouse St. – Wii game system, Wii games, Dell laptop and a small TV stolen from the property.

Unit (0-99) block Herman St. – complainant said a man sexually assaulted her at the location.

5300 block Greene St. – complainant said an acquaintance struck her in the back of the head several times with a stick during a fight. The man was arrested and taken to the Northwest Detectives Division.

600 block Carpenter Ln. – complainant said a man stole his computer after walking onto the front porch and punching him repeatedly in the face. Police later arrested the offender after spotting him in the area with the computer.

8100 block Germantown Ave. – antique mirror and a brass candlestick holder were stolen from an antiques shop. The owner said the store’s front window had been smashed by a large grey brick.
