It was a bad day for one West Mt. Airy gadget-loving household. Sometime on Friday, August 19 someone stole: An IBM ThinkPad laptop, a Dell laptop, a Sony video camera, the Xbox videogame system (ouch!), and the house and car keys.

August 17, 2011

1300 block E. Tulpehocken St.- complainant suffered child abuse from her mother. Offender punched her daughter, complainant, in the face, causing her nose to bleed. She also choked, slapped, threw her into a wall and kicked her. Both complainant and offender were sent to Special Victims Unit.

200 block Pelham Rd.- 26″ Boys 8-speed bike and 24″ girls bike stolen between 7:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m.

 

August 18, 2011

7100 block Stenton Ave.- complainant said after a verbal dispute with offender, he was punched several times and fell on the ground where the offender stomped complainant’s head against the concrete and caused him to black out. Complainant was sent to hospital and offender was arrested.

1300 Yerkes St.- 2004 Honda Accord stolen.

Musgrave St./E. Chelten Ave.- complainant was walking home from a basketball game when offender approached him and started shooting. Complainant suffered shot to his left hand and was sent to the hospital.

Musgrave St./E. Chelten Ave.- complainant was at a basketball game when he heard four to five shots fired. He was hit by a stray bullet in his legs and was sent to the hospital.

Unit block E. Pastorius St.- Nintendo DS video game, PlayStation remote and eight video games were stolen from property. The complainant lives with several roommates. There was no forced entry.

100 block W. Mt. Airy Ave.- MacBook laptop and iPod Touch stolen from 2010 Toyota.

100 block Maplewood Ave.- car radio stolen from vehicle.

900 block Murdoch Rd.- checks and money stolen. Complainant’s caregiver wrote out checks for herself and withdrew an unknown amount.

8200 block Forrest Ave.- car radio stolen from 2002 GMC Yukon.

200 block E. Willow Grove Ave.- complainant said offender raped her inside his car.

 

August 19, 2011

1200 block E. Chelten Ave.- complainant received a cut above her right eye from offender with razor. Complainant was sent to hospital, and the offender was arrested.

500 block E. Washington Lane- Panasonic HXP-2000 camcorder stolen from property.

6700 block Germantown Ave.- complainant said her co-worker approached her after work, started punching her and struck her with an unknown metal object. The offender’s boyfriend then punched the complainant, whom was treated and released from the hospital.

6600 block Sprague St.- 2008 Jeep Patriot stolen.

400 block Wellesley Rd.- Nintendo Wii with controllers, charging dock and HP laptop stolen from property.

6600 Emlen St.- IBM ThinkPad laptop, Dell laptop, Sony video camera, Xbox console, house keys and car keys stolen from property.

Germantown Ave./E. School House Lane- Dell computer monitor stolen from delivery truck while complainant was at a red light.

7000 McCallum St.- Cannondale Hybrid bike, model H-300, stolen from property.

E. Durham St.- HP Envy laptop stolen from property.

1000 block Livezey Lane- MacBook Pro laptop, iPod, necklace, watch, Freemason jewelry and coins collectables stolen from property.

 

August 20, 2011

7300 block Briar Rd.- 1993 Subaru Legacy stolen.

6800 block Limekiln Pike- silver watch and $60 cash stolen from assaulted complainant. While speaking to a female, complainant was approached by offender, punched and kicked to the ground. Two more offenders joined to attack complainant, whom was taken to the hospital.

500 block Glen Echo Rd.- complainant said her ex-boyfriend, the offender, forced his way through the front window and choked her after a verbal altercation.

600 block W. Hartwell Lane- bike was stolen from complainant’s shed. Offenders then posted a picture on Facebook of one of them riding the bike. Offenders are ex-friends of complainant’s son.

7700 block Stenton Ave.- 1995 Honda Civic stolen.

 

August 21, 2011

7100 block Ogontz Ave.- complainant was stabbed with a knife on his left back shoulder after a physical altercation with offender. Complainant was taken to the hospital, and the offender was arrested.

1700 block Plymouth St.- checks and money stolen. Complainant said her grandson stole her checks from the mail, wrote them out and cashed them. Her bank notified her of the fraudulent activity on her account.

7900 Woolston Ave.- 1999 Chevy Malibu stolen.

2100 block 73rd St.- MacBook laptop stolen from complainant’s employer vehicle, Freightliner truck.

1900 block Georgian Rd.- laptop, two jewelry boxes, Brighten silver watch and $2,500 cash stolen from property.

Unit block E. School House Lane- 2005 Nissan Xterra set on fire by can of gasoline placed next to the tire. Police ruled the fire an arson. No arrests made.

500 block E. Bringhurst St.- 1997 Toyota Avalon stolen between 5:45 a.m. and 10:20 p.m. Aug. 20.

6100 block Ross St.- Louis Vuitton purse, large box costume jewelry and GPS system stolen from vehicle.

8200 block Stenton Ave.- Cricket Android cell phone stolen from vehicle while complainant went into Sunoco gas station and left his car windows down.

8800 block Germantown Ave.- complainant was hit over the head with a vase by his sister-in-law after a verbal dispute with his wife. Complainant was sent to the hospital.

Unit block Valley Green Rd.- leather handbag containing iPhone, various IDs and credit cards stolen from 2006 Ford Explorer.

8200 block Shawnee St.- GPS system, iPod Nano and Verizon cell phone stolen from complainant’s property and 2011 Subaru Forrester.

 

August 22, 2011

Unit block Collom St.- Sony 60″ flat screen TV, Sony PlayStation, a toaster and a mirror were stolen from property between 6 p.m. Aug. 15 and 12 a.m. Aug. 20.

2000 Eastburn Ave.- copper pipes cut and stolen from basement at vacant residence.

800 block E. Washington Lane- snap on tool impact gun, 12 emissions stickers, 14 inspections stickers were stolen from property.

300 block E. Tulpehocken St.- Dell Inspiron E150 laptop stolen from residence. Complainant said her girlfriend stole the computer after a verbal altercation.

300 block E. Upsal St.- 2006 Kia Spectra, fishing rods and wallet stolen between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.

400 block E. Chelten Ave.- 2002 Ford F150 and work tools were stolen.

100 block E. Chelten Ave.- complainant said offender showed complainant his handgun and threatened to shoot him if he snitched again.

Unit block E. Rittenhouse St.- Baja Mini Bike was stolen.

600 block W. Walnut Lane- 2004 Dodge Intrepid was stolen.

100 block W. Sharpnack St.- 26″ T-Rex bike stolen from complainant’s yard.

7700 block Stenton Ave.- Nikon camera 3050 was stolen.

8400 block Temple Rd.- two pairs gold earrings; gold rope chain, two diamond gold rings, Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses, a herringbone chain and $2,000 in cash were stolen from property.

 

August 23, 2011

7800 block Lowber Ave.- 1992 Ford F150 was stolen between 1 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

100 block W. Tulpehocken Street- trek 1500 road bike and bicycle pump bike kit was stolen outside the complainant’s apartment building near the breezeway.

6300 block Cherokee St.- gold diamond necklace was stolen during a domestic dispute.

1600 block Roumfort Rd.- complainant said offender, her ex-boyfriend, kicked in the front door, grabbed her by the arm, held out a yellow knife and threatened to kill her. Offender was arrested.

8200 block Cedarbrook Ave.- bag containing $1500 in cash, iPhone, Blackberry phone, iPad, laptop, glasses and wrist watch were stolen from 2000 GMC Yukon. All items belong to the church, Power House of God, Inc.

Unit block Valley Green Rd.- purse, credit cards, ID, $60 in cash, iTouch, Canon Fun Pics and Bluetooth were stolen from 2003 Chrysler Sebring.

2000 block E. Tulpehocken St.- black Sprint cell phone stolen. Complainant said an unknown person broke his basement window with a rock and reached in to steal the phone.

 

August 24, 2011

1900 block Plymouth St.- complainant said she suspects the person who comes to her home to check on her stole, copper articles, gold tone fixtures, paper towels dishes and toilet paper.

1200 block E Chelten Ave.- one Blu-ray DVD player, one Nintendo Wii, one Xbox Kinect, jewelry, two joysticks, one Android tablet, one laptop and two school laptops stolen. The complainant had his home burglarized while he was out of town.

2100 block Homer St.- one GPS and school supplies stolen from the 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix some time between 10 p.m. Aug. 23 and 8:10 a.m. Aug. 24. Complainant said rear bumper and brake lights were damaged.

7200 block N. 21st St.- 70 ft copper pipes, one trashcan and one case of water stolen between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.

7100 block N. 19th St.- complainant said he was punched multiple times by two males in the face and head after a verbal dispute.

300 block E. Rittenhouse St.- complainant said offender came to her job, showed her his black pistol and said, “You better come out or I’m gonna shoot this place up.” Offender was arrested.

Germantown Ave./ E. Penn St.- complainant said while on Route 23 bus going southbound on Germantown Avenue, her bank card, access card, social security cards and iPod Touch 4G phone were stolen after she placed the items on the seat beside her.

100 block W. Gorgas Lane- complainant met offender from Craigslist in person to sell his Xbox. Offender held complainant at gunpoint and fled westbound on Gorgas Lane with the Xbox.

Unit block E. Moreland Ave.- numerous art paintings, totaling $30,000, stolen from property. Complainant was informed her paintings were being sold online on a website she did not create.
