$100,000 in storm damage at Penns Grove-Carneys Point Libary

Looks can be deceiving — and expensive. What doesn’t look like much damage to the Penns Grove-Carneys Point Library is actually pretty expensive, and the library is now seeking public donations to help.

Estimates to repair the damage Hurricane Irene left behind will cost about $100,000, Today’s Sunbeam reports, and it’s not clear yet what the insurance will cover.

Carpets were ruined, bookcases soaked and many things will need to be replaced. If all goes well, the library could re-open in a month.
