Zack Seward has been on the buzzword beat for a minute now. Before joining the WHYY staff as the innovations reporter in July 2012, he worked at WXXI in Rochester, N.Y., as a reporter for the Innovation Trail, a statewide public radio reporting project. The thing Zack learned upstate: everyone wants a piece of "innovation." Zack covers the latest in technology, the life sciences, social entrepreneurship, the economy, startups and big pharma. In a nutshell, it's cool ideas both for-profit and for good that are (or aren't) moving the Philadelphia region toward bigger and better. Zack is from San Francisco and went to college in Chicago. He worked at the PBS NewsHour in Washington, D.C., before attending Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism.
