Windermere demolition delayed

Residents of the fire-ravaged Windermere Court apartment building say they have not been able to retrieve their personal belongings ahead of a planned demolition — they protested yesterday, and someone heard them.

    That someone? Jannie Blackwell.

Blackwell says the demolition is being delayed while the city and building owners determine how to recover the belongings.

The cause of the fire has still not been determined, and the city’s Department of Licenses and Inspections says the building is too unstable to save.
