Wilmington neighborhood organization enlists the public in trying to solve recent crimes

A recent rape at a neighborhood park and a burst of gunfire are still unsolved, and the Browntown and Hedgeville Civic Association is holding two events tonight to spread the word.

A rally is scheduled for 6 p.m. at South Franklin Street and Maple Street, where a woman was recently sexually assaulted.  That will be followed by a meeting at 7 p.m. at the corner of Marshall and Stroud Streets, where three gunshots were recently fired.  Representatives of Wilmington law enforcement will be on hand to detail the recent crimes and to answer questions from the public and respond to concerns.  Police released a composite sketch following the March 23rd rape of a woman at Kosciuszko Park but have not made an arrest.
