“Why I Love Philly” campaign spreads Philly pride on Twitter

In honor of Valentine’s Day, new restaurants, gallery openings and neighbors who help shovel your walk, join the #whyilovephilly campaign. The official launch is Monday, but it’s never to early to show your love.

The joint effort of Young Involved Philadelphia and Independents Hall is all about expressing your love for this great city. Via Twitter, of course.

The mission is simple: “provide a live, online space for people to express their love for the gritty city we all adore- Philly (sure, the region counts too).”

People have already jumped into the effort, clicking away at their keyboards and smartphones to join the conversation everyone in Philadelphia should be a part of.

Matt Lewis of Code for America says, “O man, the reading terminal market blows my mind with deliciousness”

Event planner Katie Morrison  summarized her love in one word: “Kenzinger,” a Philadelphia Brewing Company beer.

And the Philadelphia Visitor Center sums it up best: “Isn’t it obvious? We’re… Awesome.”

Get to tweeting! We’ll share some of our favorite updates with you leading up to the launch. But don’t forget to add #whyilovephilly to your tweets so you can tell the Twitterverse just how wonderful Philadelphia is.
