Wholesale produce market first of its kind in the nation

    Mayor Michael Nutter was in Southwest Philadelphia Friday morning for a ribbon cutting of national importance. Flyers National Anthem singer Lauren Hart kick-started the event, which unveiled the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market.

    The 667,000, fully refrigerated facility on Essington Avenue is billed as the first of its kind in the country. Check out the video, which features what’s likely the most amount of giant pairs of scissors in one place.
