West Philly welcomes its second parklet

One thing Philly isn’t short on these days is parks. And it’s had some help from the University City District, which last week installed another parklet.

The small sidewalk-adjacent parks take over a parking space to expand pedestrian use. West Philly’s Green Life Cafe welcomed the first parklet in August, and nearby Powelton Village has the second.

At 36th and Lancaster outside Powelton Pizza, pedestrians now have a little more space to walk, sit or dine as they please.
