West Chester police mulling uses of $10,000 donation

The West Chester Fraternal Order of Police has some shopping to do, now that a $10,000 check that had been tied up in “slow moving government protocols” has been given to the FOP.

The result of a benefit held in January by a group of local restaurateurs, the money will be used to fund things not covered by the department’s budget, the West Chester Daily Local reports.

Det. Andrew MacFarlane and Police Chief Scott Bohn will weigh the options before making a purchase, but one possibility is automated external defibrillators made for infants.

They’d help police, who usually arrive before medics, to assist infants in distress.
