Watermelon Wednesday at Delaware schools

It’s Watermelon Wednesday at schools all across the state.

As part of the state’s Farm to School program, all 19 Delaware school districts will be serving fresh, locally-grown watermelon in lunch lines today.  It’s designed to highlight the quality and availability of healthy food produced by Delaware farmers.  State Secretary of Agriculture Ed Kee says watermelon is one of Delaware’s best known ag products, with more than 100 million pounds produced every year.
